Sarah Chenault collection, 1893-1916.

This collection consists of items, dated between 1893 and 1916, associated with Sarah Chenault of Lexington, a leader in the Daughters of the American Revolution of Kentucky. Items include an 1893 invitation to a reception at the Willard Hotel hosted by the General Spinner Memorial Assciation; a 1909 D.A.R. notice appointing Sarah Chenault state regent of the Kentucky D.A.R.; a 1916 letter to Mrs. Christopher D. Chenault from Grace Porter Hopkins of the Woman's National Democratic League, informing her that she has been appointed State Vice President of the League; newspaper clippings concerning Mrs. Chenault; two faded photographs; a poem by Dr. S. Weir Mitchell, a noted physician, author, and poet from Philadelphia; and newspaper clippings about Dr. Mitchell.
